David Cameron bowed down to Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page on Tuesday night, as he declared the programme to be the "finest sitcom of the last five years".
The prime minister met the Welsh actress, who plays Stacey Shipman, during a reception at Downing Street on Wednesday evening to mark St David's Day.
According to the Daily Telegraph Cameron said the programme, also stared James Cordon and Matt Horn, was among his favourites.
"I’m a huge fan. Like all sitcoms in the United Kingdom, it was much too short. We needed more episodes, but an absolutely fantastic piece of work and it gave pleasure to absolutely millions," he said.
Cameron was also pictured at the event meeting Wales rugby captain Sam Warburton and laughing with TV presenter Steve Jones.
The prime minister has often spoken of his favourite television programmes, which he also claims include Danish drama The Killing and BBC spy thriller Spooks.
A recent photo-shoot in the Camerons Downing Street flat also revealed the family viewing habits to include Desperate Housewives, Band of Brothers and counter-terrorism drama 24.
