David Miliband could be earning a salary four times that of his backbench MP's pay when he moves across the Atlantic, but the elder brother has already been moonlighting at several lucrative jobs while remaining MP for South Shields.
The former Foreign Secretary has been appointed chief executive and President of the International Rescue Committee in New York.

He replaces George Rupp, the former president of New York's Columbia University, who had announced in February that he was to step down, telling colleagues: "Periodic change is essential for the long-term vitality of institutions and the individuals who lead them."
According to Forbes, George Rupp earned $429,705 a year in 2009 (£283,353) the highest salary at the charity.
The salary is more than the £139,355 Leader of the Opposition salary he would have earned if he had won the Labour leadership contest.
David Miliband has earned almost £1m since Labour lost the election. Despite being an Arsenal supporter, he has earns £75,000 as Vice-Chairman and non-executive director of Sunderland AFC.
According the latest register of member's interests, he commands up to £20,000 per event as a speaker.
