Davina McCall has announced that she’s returning to the Big Brother franchise for the first time in a decade.

The former BB host is set to front a new highlights series celebrating some of the reality TV juggernaut’s best episodes.

Interestingly, Big Brother: Best Shows Ever Show will be aired by Channel 4 – the show’s original broadcaster – on its digital channel E4.

The series will coincide with the 20th anniversary of Big Brother’s launch in the UK this summer.

Davina said: “I lived and breathed Big Brother for 11 years of my life.  I didn’t miss one single episode. Not one week goes by when I don’t quote Big Brother in some form.

“It made me laugh, it made me cry and most importantly it taught me to never judge a book by its cover. I love the show with all of my heart and can’t wait to share it with a whole new audience. And of course, all you diehard fans out there...It’s good to be back. Big Brother’s missed you.”

She won’t be doing it alone, though, with former Bit On The Side presenter – and Celebrity Big Brother winner – Rylan Clark-Neal will join Davina in “choosing and dissecting” the episodes that are shown.

Rylan joined the Big Brother family during the Channel 5 years, and presented spin-off series Big Brother’s Bit On The Side until it was axed in 2018.

He said: “After being off air for nearly two years I’m so excited to be bringing some much-needed Big Brother back to our lives. Over the years Big Brother has brought groundbreaking television moments for many reasons, but now so more than ever whilst we’re all playing the role of housemates, let’s go back and rewind the clock to some of our favourite ever episodes.

“There will be laughs, tears and drama, but most of all we get to relive some of Big Brother’s greatest episodes.”

Davina hosted Big Brother and its celebrity spin-off for 11 years, until the franchise made the jump to Channel 5, after which former winner Brian Dowling took over as presenter.

After three series, he was replaced by Emma Willis, who had been the host of Bit On The Side, while Rylan took over the spin-off show.

Since Big Brother went off the air in 2018, Rylan has been extremely vocal in his hopes for it to find a new UK home.

However, Channel 4 confirmed last year that they had no plans to bring it back, despite rumours at the time.
