Death Of Baby Boy Investigated By Child Abuse Officers

Child abuse officers are investigating the death of a four-month old boy who was found ill at home.

Police were called at 7.55am on Monday to reports of a young child unwell at an address in Tolworth Broadway, Surbiton.

The baby was taken to a south London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8.50am.

Officers from the sexual offences, exploitation and child abuse command have been informed and are conducting enquiries into the circumstances of the death.

The death is being treated as unexplained pending a post mortem examination.

Next of kin are aware and no arrests have been made.
