Dexter actress Jennifer Carpenter is expecting a baby with her musician fiancé Seth Avett.
The recently engaged couple announced the news in a statement to Us Weekly after the star was photographed with what looked to be a small baby bump.
The 35-year-old actress is best known for her role as detective Debra Morgan on the hit series Dexter, playing the sister of blood spatter analyst and secret serial killer Dexter Morgan.
Jennifer and Seth met at a concert four years ago and got together after their previous relationships broke up. Jennifer used to be married to her TV co-star Michael C Hall.
She starred opposite Michael - who played her on-screen brother - and they began dating before getting married in 2008, but the couple divorced just three years later.
Folk rocker Avett, whose full name is Timothy Seth Avett, is one the founding members of the band the Avett Brothers, along with his brother Seth, where he plays guitar, drums, and piano and sings lead vocals.
A friend told the magazine: "Jennifer met Seth about four years ago at a concert.
"She loves music and has always been a big supporter of the band. The relationship developed over the past few months.
"They have a lot in common and seem to have a similar sense of humour.
"There is an ease about their relationship. They are a good match."
Last year Jennifer was cast once again as a detective, investigating the disappearance of a young girl in the pilot for Sea of Fire.
The show was to centre around the fallout of three teenage girls from a small town starring in a pornographic film, but it was never developed into a full series.
