Didier Drogba 'Happy' In China And Won't Be Returning To Premier League

He Won't Be Coming Back

Didier Drogba has said he is "really happy" in China playing for Shanghai Shenhua and isn't considering making a return to the Premier League.

It was reported last month Drogba, 34, could be sold by the Chinese club over a shareholder row. Shanghai's chairman Zhu Jun, who holds a 28.5% stake, is refusing to pay his share of the club's daily costs unless his demands for greater control are met.

However Drogba, who has scored five goals in seven games in the Chinese Super League, told BBC's Football Focus he expects to see out his contract

"I miss the Premier League because it's the best league in the world, but really I don't regret my choice.

"I just arrived like two months ago so I'm really happy. I am, I'm really happy here so I have no reasons to leave. I don't want to leave here."

Drogba and Anelka played together for four years at Chelsea

The Ivory Coast international departed Chelsea a legend after he scored the equaliser and hit the winning penalty in the shootout against Bayern Munich in May's Champions League final.

In addition to his Bavarian heroics, Drogba scored in four FA Cup finals - scoring the winner on three occasions - and also struck in two League Cup finals for the club - netting the winner against Arsenal in 2007.

He and Anelka both earn in excess of £190,000 a week in the Far East, although Drogba has already been linked with moves to Barcelona and Arsenal since he moved to the Far East.
