Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's Autumn/Winter 2015 collection had a clear theme: celebrating the power of women.
The show was dedicated to mothers. Supermodels, including pregnant model Bianca Balti, carried their babies down the Milan catwalk to the soundtrack of The Spice Girls 'Mama' - and yes, the children were dressed in mini lace D&G dresses too.
"The designers' observation of real mothers from all over the world gave them a new perspective on femininity," the brand stated in a press release after the show. This sentiment was also the perfect follow up to the S/S 15 ad campaign starring elderly Italian women.
Even the clothes made the inspiration behind this collection clear. The words, " I love you mother," were printed on dresses and pencil skirts alongside a red rose motif, while childlike illustrations of a family home added more 'ahhh' factor.
Black lace knitwear and fur provided a contrast to the pretty pastels but crystal hair accessories, bejewelled headphones and ruby earrings added sparkle to every look.
Yes, it was all very sweet - but it this ode to mothers was both sincere and endearing. See more from the show below:
