'Downton Abbey' stars Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and Allen Leech popped in to 'The Late Show' this week to chat to Stephen Colbert, and he decided to get them to try and experiment.
Theorising that most of the show's allure is down to the posh English accents, Stephen asked the stars to act out a scene with American accents.
Surprise surprise, it completely ruined it.
The minor change made such a big difference, it had the actors in stitches. It completely changed the sombre, dramatic tone of the show and made it totally comical.
"Nearly spit out my beverage when Allen spoke," a YouTube commenter said. "The wait is worth it."
