It's quite nice to know that The Artist Formerly Known As Kate Middleton *clearly* decided that, since team MyDaily had attended the Lucian Freud: Portraits exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, it was the cool thing to be doing.

The Duchess of Cambridge clearly has a better handle on what's appropriate winter wear than, just to pull a name from thin air, Alesha Dixon. We're imagining that her belted Jesire coat dress was all kinds of warm, plus she's popped on a pair of her trusty nude tights, plus her hair is functioning as a brunette scarf.

Duchess Kate kept the rest of the styling simple and chic - black heels, black clutch, white sparkly bracelet and necklace. She also accessorised with an art history degree (showing quite impressive commitment and forward planning for her first solo public engagement).

No word on how the Duchess reviewed the show yet, but as she's a patron of the National Portrait Gallery would you really trust her as an unbiased source? We think not. For an alternative review of the exhibition you can read MyDaily's Freud-related thoughts.
