HRH Duchess of Cambridge delighted the audience at this year's Sports Personality of the Year with a short live appearance on stage.
She presented the main award of the evening to cyclist Bradley Wiggins and the lifetime achievement honour to Lord Sebastian Coe at the evening to mark one of the nation's greatest ever sporting years.

All eyes were on the pregnant royal, who looked composed in a floor-length emerald-green dress, standing on the stage next to David Beckham while Coe made his emotional speech, followed by Bradley Wiggins' cheekier one.
The Duchess had not been seen in public since leaving the King Edward VII Hospital in London on 6 December.

The Duchess, who is pregnant with her first child, had pulled out of attending the royal premiere of 'The Hobbit' earlier in the week after suffering from acute morning sickness, but was reportedly determined to show her support for the country's athletes, as an official ambassador of Britain's Olympic and Paralympic team.

Both Prince William and his wife were regular attendees at the 2012 Olympics earlier this year, where they were often seen cheering in delight at British cycling triumphs in the velodrome, and other Team GB victories.
