A survivor of the Dunblane massacre who tried to rape a pensioner in her own home is expected to be sentenced on Monday.
Ryan Liddell attacked the 76-year-old at her house in the Stirlingshire town on June 14 2010.
The 20-year-old had denied the charges against him but was convicted by a jury in June last year of assaulting the woman with intent to rape her, putting her life in danger.
He was found guilty of repeatedly punching her on the face and body, dragging her across the floor and telling her he wanted sexual intercourse with her.
Liddell was shot and injured during the tragedy at Dunblane primary school in 1996, in which gunman Thomas Hamilton killed 16 children and their teacher.
Liddell, from Dunblane, is due to appear at the High Court in Aberdeen for sentencing today.
At a previous hearing, he was told he could be supervised for the rest of his life after judge Lord Uist called for a risk assessment report to be completed to determine whether an Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR) should be imposed.
Under OLRs, prisoners can only be freed once the Parole Board deems it safe to do so, and they are then monitored for life following their release.
