The episodes have already been filmed and Shane Richie has shared his thoughts on the show, stating: “What a wonderful time I had sitting on the sofa with Jessie watching 12 years of Kat and Alfie. We laughed, we cried and we giggled as we remembered the past 12 years.”
While an official start date is yet to be announced, bosses have confirmed that the first episode will go online in the first week of January, ahead of the February anniversary celebrations.
The anniversary is being commemorated with a live week, during which there will be one full, live episode and a number of live elements in the other shows.
A number of key storylines are set to climax during live week, and viewers will finally get to find out who killed Lucy Beale.
It is also thought that the Carter family will also provide plenty of drama.
