This isn't the first time the 38-year-old 'Strictly' star has been approached by soap bosses, having turned them down twice in the past.
But show sources say this time she's ready to sign on the dotted line.
A source told The Mirror: “It could be a brilliant casting move.
“She would be a perfect addition to the team with her stunning looks and hugely impressive acting credentials.”
Denise - who has starred in the likes of 'Chicago' and 'Where The Heart Is' - has admitted she's a huge fan of the BBC soap.
“I love EastEnders and I know quite a few people in the cast," she said last year. "I went to school with Nicola Stapleton [Mandy] and Samantha Womack [Ronnie]. And Chris Parker, who used to play Spencer, is one of my best mates.”
Meanwhile, Denise's hubby, Lee Mead has spoken out to dispel rumours that their marriage is in trouble.
