Lee Carter’s depression storyline is set to take centre stage in ‘EastEnders’ next month, when the troubled youngster confides in his mum Linda.
Viewers have seen Lee privately struggle, since returning to Albert Square, and in October, he will finally turn to his mother for help.
Lee's emotional problems surprise Linda
When Linda discovers that her son has been secretly battling depression, she encourages him to open up about his feelings, and offers advice when he reveals the extent of his problems.
Lee’s depression is the latest in a long line of serious topics tackled by the ‘EastEnders’ team, following 2014’s rape storyline, and Shabnam and Kush’s recent stillbirth tragedy.
Linda tries to help her son
The soap is showing no signs of slowing down, following the huge Lucy Beale murder plot which dominated early 2015, and Max Branning’s murder trial is currently ongoing.
In the run-up to Christmas, a number of key plots will develop, including Ben Mitchell and Paul Coker’s relationship, as well as Kathy Beale’s much-talked about return.
Watch ‘EastEnders’ on 1 October to see the events unfold.
