The English Defence League marched in Newcastle on Saturday calling for the repatriation of immigrants in the wake of the EU referendum vote.
Members of the North East Infidels and National Front were also present.
The racists were outnumbered by a counter-demonstration organised by the Migration and Asylum Justice Forum chanting: "Racist scum off our streets."
The result of the EU referendum has seen an increase in anti-immigration rhetoric.
Police are investigating suspected racist graffiti scrawled on a Polish community building in London.
One deluded gent was filmed by Channel 4 News admitting he voted leave "to stop Muslims coming into the EU".
He said: “It’s all about immigration. It’s not about trade or Europe or anything like that, it’s all about immigration.
“It’s to stop Muslims coming into this country. Simple as that.”

A Northumbria Police spokesman said of the Newcastle march: "We have been made aware that three protest events are due to take place in Newcastle city centre today.
"They will all be based around the Greys monument area of the city and will run between 11am and 3pm.
"We have spoken to the organisers of all events and are aware of their intended routes.
"We are expecting extra people in the city centre during these times and although we do not anticipate the events causing any disruption to traffic or pedestrians the centre may be busier than normal.
"We will have officers in the city centre to ensure the events pass safely and with minimal disruption to the public."
