Emma Watson has confirmed she is to star in a new Disney film - and we can't think of a better leading lady to play this famous character.
The 24-year-old Harry Potter star has been cast as Belle in the live action version of Beauty and the Beast. Watson announced the news on her Facebook page and confirmed that yes, she will be singing in this "surreal" role...
The classic carton is being reworked by Twilight: Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon and screenwriter Stephen Chbosky, but fans of the original shouldn't be too worried - songs including 'Be Our Guest' will still be there.
So, when can we see Emma embrace her inner princess?Variety reports production for the film will start later in 2015, but no release date has been set.
The news comes after Emma launched her latest gender equality campaign at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
She joined a panel including U.N. secretary general Ban Ki-moon and Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfvén as she unveiled a year-long "IMPACT 10X10X10" plan to address women's empowerment. She asked governments and universities to support the new campaign going forward.
It sounds like 2015 could be another busy year for Disney's new Belle.
