Julia Louis-Dreyfus got a little more than she bargained for when she went on stage to accept her Emmy Award, for Best Leading Actress in a Comedy Series, for her role of Vice-President Selina Meyer in 'Veep'.

Not only was it, or perhaps because it was, her third consecutive gong for the same series, but Bryan Cranston - 'Breaking Bad' star and popular winner of the gong for Best Actor in a Drama Series - decided it was time to whisk her off her feet for an extended make-out session, much to the amusement of fellow Awards-goers.

This was an indisputably high point in an evening that many viewers have criticised for being a bit too sleepy, with predictable winners and with host Seth Myers' opening monologue too full of in-jokes directed at those in the industry, rather than for the benefit of those watching from home.
