Enfield: Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder After Woman Found In Street Dies

Police were called at about 5.50pm on Sunday where they found a woman injured.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found injured in a north London street.

Police were called to Enfield by the London Ambulance Service at about 5.50pm on Sunday where they found a woman injured in the street.

The Metropolitan Police said the woman, who was in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene near the Brookbank building in Turkey Street.

Her next of kin have been informed while a post-mortem examination and formal identification will be carried out in due course, the force added.

A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and taken to a north London police station, police said.

The Met said a police cordon remained in place on Sunday night and that officers will be in the area while initial investigations are carried out.

A spokesman added: “Police were called to Brookbank, Turkey Street, at 5.49pm on Sunday, April 7, by the London Ambulance Service.

“A woman, aged in her 20s, was found injured in the street and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

“A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and he has been taken to a north London police station.”
