England’s final round Six Nations match against Italy in Rome has been postponed over coronavirus fears, the PA news agency has reported.

The match had been due to take place on March 14 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Tournament organisers faced the option of playing the game behind closed doors or delaying it until later in the year and have chosen the latter option, the agency said.

Official confirmation of the decision is expected from Six Nations later today.

The decision follows an outbreak of Covid-19 in Italy, where more than 3,000 people have been diagnosed with the virus and 107 have died.
