Euro 2012: Italy Take On Croatia 10 Years On From Controversial World Cup Game (VIDEO)

Italy and Croatia, like Spain and the Republic of Ireland, meet at Euro 2012 10 years on from taking on each other at the 2002 World Cup.

In what is one of the tournament's best matches this century, the unfancied Croats recorded their only win in a group also containing Mexico and Ecuador against the Italians.

One-nil down to Christian Vieri's third goal of the tournament, they rallied to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Ivica Olic and Milan Rapaić's looping effort.

But the game ended in drama and controversy. Francesco Totti came agonisingly close with a free-kick before English referee Graham Poll got accustomed to World Cup controversy four years before his three-card trick.
