Warner Bros have unveiled the first official trailer for ‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ - or ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald’, to give the film its full name.
Clocking in at just under two minutes, the clip includes our first proper look at Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, as he enlists former student Newt Scamander to help thwart the title character’s dangerous plans.
Johnny Depp, returning as Gellert Grindelwald, features in the trailer for just a few seconds and does not have any dialogue.
Eddie Redmayne is returning as Newt and the cast also includes Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler and Zoë Kravitz.
While the first film was a hit, both with fans and at the box office, the ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off franchise has drawn criticism for casting Depp.
Many fans were also disappointed when director David Yates stated that the second film will not directly address Dumbledore’s sexuality, following JK Rowling’s revelation that the wizard was gay.
There’s every chance this could be rectified later though, as three more ‘Fantastic Beasts’ films will follow this sequel.
‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald’ arrives in cinemas on Friday 16 November. Watch the trailer above…
