Fearne Cotton was spotted leaving the BBC studios in London on Wednesday after presenting her morning Radio 1 show.

Nothing unusual there. But her work outfit doesn't exactly scream August, does it?

In defence of 32-year-old radio presenter's latest look, the weather hasn't exactly been balmy this month.

After the heat wave earlier this summer, the temperature has dropped dramatically ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend. Typical.

Yet while many of us have been determined to stay away from pulling on a pair of black opaque tights, the Very.co.uk designer teamed hers with more autumn-friendly clothes - studded biker boots, an embellished sweater and a multi-coloured fur scarf. Cosy, or what?

Earlier in the week, Fearne tackled the sudden downpours in the capital city by wrapping up in a belted black mac. Her answer to keeping her feet dry? A pair of grey socks...

It might be a little early in the year for tights and thick socks but Fearne, we don't blame you.

In other news, Fearne has recently become an ambassador for Mum of the Year. She had her first child Rex with husband Jesse Wood in February 2013.

Speaking about her new role she said, "It is a real honour to be chosen to act as an ambassador for such an amazing campaign. There are so many inspirational mums out there who do such wonderful things for others and don't realise just how special they are!"

As her Instagram page shows, Fearne knows what it's like to combine work life, home life and motherhood.

She posted the picture below with the caption, "Yoga...mum style. Washing basket, son, general chaos."
