Festive neighbours have turned their quiet cul-de-sac into a Christmas winter wonderland.
Residents of Greyhound Close in Hedge End, Hampshire, have gone to town with decorations to ensure there is absolutely no chance Santa will pass them by as he flies across the night skies on December 25. They have adorned the close with thousands of lights and decorations, a six-foot snowmen, dancing reindeer and even an appearance from Father Christmas himself.
The annual display attracts visitors from all over the country – and it's all in a good cause, for the neighbours have raised £38,000 for Naomi House children's hospital in Winchester since 2004.
This year, organisers say it will be raising money for Ronald McDonald House as well, and they hope that generous people who come to see the spectacular lights will dig deep in their pockets to help both charities.
One of the organisers, Mike Parsons, said homes taking part have had to come up with ways to keep the show fresh and new, but he believes that this year's show will be better than last year's.
Mike told his local paper: "It is becoming increasingly difficult each year to find things so there is an element of creativity this year and we have to create things for the show.
"People come from across Hampshire to see the lights and it shows the power of Facebook. If you measure our success based on donations, it has really snowballed."
