‘Finding Dory’ Trailer Sparks Speculation That Sequel Will Feature Disney’s First Lesbian Couple

But not everyone's happy...

The latest trailer for ‘Finding Dory’ debuted over the weekend and immediately sparked speculation that Disney could be about to introduce their first ever lesbian characters.

In one scene, Tank the octopus gets into a baby's pushchair, cue the two shocked women turning round to see 'their' baby has transformed.

Disney have neither confirmed nor denied the characters are gay, so it could simply be two women standing next to each other. Or two completely platonic female friends enjoying a day out.

We’ll just have to wait until the film, the follow up to the hugely successful ‘Finding Nemo’, is released to find out.

In the meantime, the idea of Disney introducing LGBT characters into their films has been widely applauded by film fans on Twitter...

Although not everyone is happy, with some suggesting they’d be boycotting the film altogether, despite the lead character being voiced by Ellen DeGeneres - and out and proud gay woman…

'Finding Dory' comes to UK cinemas on 16 June.
