People who travel for holiday could be fined up to £6,400 for breaking the latest lockdown restrictions, the government has said.
From Thursday, domestic and international holidays are banned until at least December 2.
Individuals who are found to be in breach of the rules will face penalties starting at £200 and increasing to a maximum of £6,400.
According to the Department for Transport, people in England should also avoid travelling in and out of their local area, except for reasons such as work, education, exercise or going to medical appointments.
Sweden and Germany have been removed from the UK’s list of travel corridors, as the countries have both seen a recent rise in Covid-19 cases.
Passengers arriving into the UK from Germany and Sweden from Saturday will need to self-isolate for two weeks.
No additional countries have been put onto the list, from which people returning to the UK from these destinations will no longer be asked to self-isolate.

The news comes as the whole of England has been put under strict lockdown restrictions once again, amid a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases, hospitalisations and deaths.
Figures released by the government on Wednesday show almost 500 Covid-19 deaths were registered in just one day, the first time since May 19 that the daily death toll has exceeded 450.
