Florence Henderson Dead: 'The Brady Bunch' Actress Dies, Aged 82

She'll go down in TV history for playing Mrs Brady.

‘The Brady Bunch’ star Florence Henderson has died, at the age of 82.

Florence was best known for her role as the matriarch, Carol Brady, in the TV sitcom, which ran for five years in the 60s and 70s.

Several reboots came over the following 20 years, including ‘The Brady Bunch Hour’ and ‘The Brady Brides’.

The actress’s representatives have confirmed that she died on Thursday (24 November), surrounded by family and loved ones, having been admitted to hospital after suffering from heart failure.

Although her role as Mrs Brady is the one for which she’s most famous, Florence’s performing career spanned more than 50 years, with a number of roles on stage and screen.

The first female guest host of ‘The Tonight Show’ in the US, Florence went on to land her own talk show, ‘The Florence Henderson Show’, decades later, which ran for eight years, as well as a cooking show ‘Who’s Cooking With Florence Henderson’, both of which aired on RLTV (Retirement Living TV).

In her later years, the actress also made several appearances on reality television, including a stint on ‘The Surreal Life’ and an appearance on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ in 2010.

Florence’s final role was playing “Irma” in an episode of the Disney Channel show, ‘K.C. Undercover’.

She is survived by her four children, Barbara, Joseph, Robert and Lizzie, and five grandchildren.
