BenNaNa: Does Melt-Proof Ice Cream Work? Probably...
|

Have suffered the sticky-fingered dilemma when your ice cream starts to melt before your eyes?

You’re not alone – so to help tackle this summertime dilemma, a reporter from Japan’s RocketNews went on an ice lolly task to see whether a melt-free ice cream actually works.

The unnamed reporter bought a Nestlé China iced treat – named ‘BenNaNa’ – which promises to be melt-proof and recorded a detailed timeline on its melt status.

Take a look at other stupid inventions for lazy people…

The BenNaNa ice cream was recently ranked as the No. 1 trending topic on Sina Weibo – China’s version of Twitter.

Launched last year, the popsicle can be eaten like a banana, as the outer layer can be ‘peeled’ back to reveal the ice cream filling.

After over three hours in the sun, the outer gelatinous yellow layer maintained its shape. However, its vanilla ice cream insides turned into a soup-like mess.

Whoops.
