Four people are due to appear in court after being charged with terror offences.

Naweed Ali, 28, and Khobaib Hussain, 24, both of Sparkhill in Birmingham, and Mohibur Rahman, 31, and Tahir Aziz, 37, of Stoke-on-Trent, are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London.

They are charged with preparing for terrorist acts, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorist Act, West Midlands Police said.

The quartet were arrested on August 26 by the force's counter-terrorism unit.

A fifth man, 18, who was also arrested last month, has been released without charge.
