Four people have died after two cars smashed into each other - causing one to "somersault" and burst into flames.

Neighbours rushed out of their homes to try to put out the fire and save those inside, but the blaze was too strong.

Suffolk Police said a man, 77, and a woman, 75, from Ely in Cambridgeshire, and two young men aged 24 and 28, from Mildenhall in Suffolk, died at the scene.

A tearful group, believed to be family and friends of the deceased, visited the scene of last night's crash near the picturesque village of Worlington near Barton Mills in Suffolk, and laid flowers.
