Pink may be the biggest colour trend of the season but sweet shades aren't everyone's thing. It's that whole girly-girl misconception that does it. However - you can do pink without the fluffy, cutesy, candyfloss label.
Take Amanda Seyfried, who was at the Cle De Peau Beaute press conference in Seoul, South Korea this week wearing a pink Valentino dress. Her lacy ensemble was definitely feminine, but without the flounce or frou-frou fuss that verges on sickly territory.
To master this shade in style (think barely there pink) here's four sartorial tricks that will have you looking chic but with a bit of edge.
1. Wear with a killer lipstick. The shade is your call but just make sure it's punchy. Plum or scarlet say the lady is a vamp.
2. Don't let the fear of looking washed-out keep you from wearing pink. If you have a fair complexion then embrace it. If you've got an olive skin-tone and dark features then the colour already suits.
3. Mix your pink wears with a heavier fabric like denim or leather. And if you're really not pink's biggest fan girl then start off with small items like a pastel pink jumper or a knitted beanie.
4. Make sure your accessories stand out more than said pink item whether it's a chunky chain necklace, an OTT bomber jacket or parka. Even a pair of oversized headphones playing beats by Azealia Banks will do.
