Will Smith has shared the first pictures from the upcoming Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reunion special, which appeared to confirm the end of his feud with original cast member Janet Hubert.
Janet played aunt Viv in the first three seasons of the hit US sitcom, before Daphne Maxwell Reid took over as the character, amid reports of a fallout with Will.
However, he is seen sitting down with Janet to celebrate 30 years since the beloved comedy first aired in the US, as part of the new HBO Max special.
Will shared a picture of them enjoying a laugh together on Instagram, as he also posted his a snap of him on the set of the Banks’ family home with co-stars Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian), Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton), and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
Will wrote: “Today is exactly 30 YEARS since The @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted! So we’re doin’ something for y’all… a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin’ soon to @HBOmax!
“RIP James,” he added in honour of the late James Avery, who played Will’s on-screen uncle Phil Banks and died in 2013.
Speaking in 2011, Janet ruled out a reunion with Will, telling TMZ: “He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up.
“This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.”
According to HBO, the pair had an “emotional reunion and a candid conversation” in scenes filmed for the special.
The special is due to arrive on the HBO Max streaming service in November, but there is no confirmation yet as to whether it will air in the UK.
The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air ran for six seasons from 1990 to 1996 and saw Will play a fictionalised version of himself who was sent to live with his wealthy aunt and uncle in their Bel-Air mansion.
