In case you haven't heard, last week we launched our latest charity campaign, "From a Mother to Another", in partnership with Hubbub.org.uk and Barnardo's. Over the next six weeks, in the run-up to Mother's Day, we'll be urging our customers to hand in their good quality, used children's clothes to our stores, so we can pass them on to disadvantaged families in the UK.
We all know how quickly little ones grow and often there is plenty of life left in their outgrown clothes. The figures are staggering: parents spend on average, £11,000 on clothing per child as they grow, with a third of clothing in the UK ending up in landfill. Having built JoJo on a "waste not, want not" ethos, we knew something had to be done.
So, if you have any children's clothes you no longer need, simply bag them up, sorted into age and gender and drop them into any JoJo store. You'll receive a £5 voucher too so there really is no excuse! All the clothes we collect will be beautifully gift-wrapped and distributed via Barnardo's to UK families in need, as a gift 'from a mother to another'.
We kicked things off last week with a launch at Somerset House in Central London with our trusty van Eloise - huge thank you to everyone who popped down. Scroll down for the photos from the fabulous event, and don't forget to use the hashtag #MotherToAnother to keep up with the latest news on Twitter. You can also find all the campaign info on our Community.
Give something worthwhile this Mother's Day.
