The sequel that’s been six years in the making is almost here, with critics now sharing their early reviews of Frozen 2.
Upon its release in 2013, Disney’s original animated film became an instant classic, delighting audiences around the globe and even winning Best Original Song at the Academy Awards for (what else?) Let It Go.
After a long wait, the characters – including Anna, Elsa and Olaf the Snowman – are about to be reunited in Frozen II, which film critics have now seen for the first time.
And while their full reviews are still to come, early tweets suggest that fans who loved Frozen will be just as pleased with the follow-up...
And while there were some who don’t think Frozen 2 quite reaches the heights of the original, they still found positives in the new film…
Returning to the franchise are voice actors Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell and Josh Gad, while the sequel also adds Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K Brown to the cast.
Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee also helmed Frozen 2, while the film’s new songs were written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who also penned the likes of Let It Go, Love Is An Open Door and For The First Time In Forever.
The story picks up three years after the original film, and sees Elsa undertaking a mission that takes her around the country to discover the truth about her magical powers.
Frozen 2 arrives in UK cinemas on Friday 22 November.
