Gaddafi To Glastonbury: The Summer In Pictures (PHOTOS)

Glastonbury To Gaddafi: Summer 2011
|

The summer usually brings a quiet lull in the news - parliamentarians on holiday shiver for photo calls on windy British beaches while the rest of us swap newspapers for trashy novels on the beach. This summer, however, has been the most eventful for many a year.

Alongside the traditional summer exploits of camping in muddy fields, watching tennis at Wimbledon and taking an unhealthy interest in celebrity weddings, came several unexpected events. From rioting in Britain to rebels chasing the Gaddafi regime out of Libya, there has not been a dull moment. One minute we are watching the Murdoch family squirming in parliament, the next we are listening to lurid details about the head of the IMF allegedly sexually assaulting a chambermaid.

All the major events are here - from Glastonbury to Gaddafi.
