As monarchs, dictators and pop stars alike have learned throughout history, one of the perks of being a tyrant is that you get to put your face on an awful lot of merchandise.
Libya's Colonel Gaddafi is no stranger to this fact. As has been shown by the recent raid of his compound in Tripoli, Gaddafi really liked his own image. Whether it was gold statues, posters or paintings, nothing was too gauche for the Colonel.
One of the strangest, and perhaps most illustrative, examples of Gaddafi's apparent egomania is his tendency to issue official stamps featuring himself, warplanes, and often a really psychedelic sunset.
We've collected the best of these stamps in our gallery, below.
