The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a fine smartphone, and is having a great launch according to the most recent figures.
And while accurate analysis is difficult, a study by iQmetrix (see above) suggests it's actually selling better than the iPhone 5S did.
Their study of 15,000 stores suggests that the new Galaxy flagship has been a huge hit with consumers. It doesn't include orders taken online or on Apple.com of course, but it's interesting data anyway.
The downside? There are now rumours of at least one new S5 variant - including an S5 'Prime' with an even better screen and camera. So it's possible those sales might slow ahead of the new handset's release.
Either way Samsung is making a huge amount of money. So is Apple. As you were.
