Gareth Bale scored a brace on his full Bernabéu debut for Real Madrid in their bonkers 7-3 win over Sevilla but overshadowed his performance with another shameless dive.

Bale curled in a spectacular opener and doubled Madrid's advantage with a deflected free-kick before Cristiano Ronaldo took over.

The Portuguese scored a penalty and notched two more goals in the second-half for his 22nd Madrid hat-trick. while Karim Benzema ended his seven-goal club drought with a double.

Bale takes a tumble in the second-half

Welshman Bale, who provided two assists for Ronaldo and Benzema, was fortunate not to be yellow carded when he attempted to win a penalty in the second-half, though.

But Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was keen to laud the 24-year-old after a poor Clásico display at the weekend.

"Tonight everyone saw the real Gareth," the Italian told a press conference. "He played really well, showing fantastic skills. It takes time [to adapt] but it was a necessity. Now he doesn't have problems physically and he is improving his confidence, so he will be very important for us in the future."

Ronaldo has now joined Atlético Madrid's Diego Costa at the top of the Primera Liga's goalscoring charts with 11 goals.
