Gary Glitter has appeared in court to face allegations he carried out a string of sex attacks on two underage girls.
The former pop star, who appeared under his real name Paul Gadd, is charged with eight sex offences against under-age girls aged 12 and 14 in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The allegations include claims he plied a one of the girls with alcohol so he could have sex with her.
Dressed in a beige three-piece suit, pink shirt, cream scarf and wearing tinted glasses, Glitter spoke only to confirm his name, age and address during a brief hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
He was wearing a Panama hat, which he removed before the start of the hearing. He spoke slowly in a clear voice and spelled out his surname.
The 70-year-old listened through a hearing loop in the dock as the case was adjourned until a hearing at Southwark Crown Court on July 3.
Judge Emma Arbuthnot bailed him until that date.
She asked his defence barrister Christopher Ware about the defendant wearing sunglasses. He said his client had a "medical condition".
Glitter, 70, was the first person to be arrested as part of the Operation Yewtree - launched after the revelations about Jimmy Savile - when he was held at his home in Marylebone, central London, in October 2012.
The police probe was launched in the wake of sex abuse claims against the disgraced late TV presenter Jimmy Savile, who was unmasked after his 2011 death as Britain's most prolific paedophile.
The Crown Prosecution Service announced earlier this month that Glitter had been charged.
He will stand in the dock at Westminster Magistrates Court where he will appear before deputy chief magistrate Emma Arbuthnot.
Glitter is accused of four counts of indecent assault against the first alleged victim, who was just 12 or 13 at the time, between 31 January 1977 until 31 December that year.
He is also accused of "administering a drug, namely alcohol, to obtain intercourse", and one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 years old between the same dates.
He is also charged with two counts of indecent assault between October 1, 1979 and December 31, 1980 involving the second complainant, who was aged 13 or 14 at the time.
