Strictly couple Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have shared the first photos of their daughter – and revealed her name.
The pair both posted three photos of their newborn on each of their Instagram accounts, which showed her lying down asleep in a pink cardigan. “Mia Louise Marquez,” they wrote in the caption, alongside a heart emoji.
The couple welcomed their daughter on 4 July at the Royal Bolton Hospital in Greater Manchester.
Hinting that the birth had not gone smoothly, Atkinson said the child had given the pair “quite a fright at times” and thanked the nurses and doctors who delivered the newborn.

Marquez has since shared a photo of him and Atkinson shortly after she gave birth. “I took this photo few hours after Gem gave birth to our gorgeous baby girl,” wrote the dancer who is currently touring his show with fellow Strictly stars, Giovanni Pernice and Aljaž Škorjanec, who partnered Atkinson on the 2017 series of the show.
“I’ve been only five days away from both of them and it already feels like five months. Counting down the hours to be back with both of them and melt my eyes looking at those two beautiful faces.”
Strictly stars sent their congratulations to the couple. Katie Piper, who was paired with Gorka last year, wrote: “Oh my goodness! What a beautiful little girl.”
Ruth Langsford, who was a contestant in 2017, wrote: “Soooo beautiful! Well done you two!” and professional dancer Karen Clifton called Mia “precious”. Dianne Buswell, who is now in a relationship with her dance partner Joe Sugg, wrote: “Omgggggggg she is beautiful.”
Gemma and Gorka met on Strictly in 2017, when the former soap star was partnered with Škorjanec and Marquez was dancing with Alexandra Burke.
