‘Strictly’ stars Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have revealed they’re expecting their first child together.
The couple, who met on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2017, revealed the news on Instagram. Atkinson posted a photo of their two dogs holding signs saying: “Guess what, mum’s pregnant, we’re going to be big brothers!”
“And what amazing big brothers they will be,” she captioned the snap. “Myself and Gorks are beyond excited and happy and feel incredibly blessed to be meeting our new family member later this year. Baby Marquez! We love you loads already.”
Marquez posted the same photo on his own Instagram account, writing: “Gemma, thank you for the greatest gift in life. Myself and Gem are beyond thrilled to be welcoming our new family member later this year!
“Norm and Ollie can’t wait to start their big brother duties.”
The couple were paired together on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2017, but didn’t confirm their relationship until February 2018 – on Valentine’s Day. Posting a snap of the couple, Atkinson wrote: “Here’s to many more kid. Happy Valentines Day Gorka.”
This will be the second ‘Strictly’ baby, after professional dancer Kristina Rihanoff had a little one with her partner Ben Cohen in July 2016.
The couple met as dancing partners on ‘Strictly’ 2013. Cohen and his former wife announced their separation in September 2014 – Cohen and Rihanoff insisted they only got together after Cohen split from Abby.
‘Strictly’ co-stars past and present piled onto Instagram to congratulate Atkinson and Marquez about their forthcoming arrival, including Aston Merrigold, Lauren Steadman and Gorka’s 2018 dance partner, Katie Piper.
