‘TOWIE’ star and self-appointed “queen of memays” Gemma Collins is set to bring her unique brand of ridiculousness to the new series of ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The GC will undoubtedly be serving up more viral content as she takes to the ice on for the 2019 run of the ITV skating competition.
Gemma was confirmed for the show alongside former ‘EastEnders’ actor Richard Blackwood on Monday’s edition of ‘This Morning’.
The ‘Dancing On Ice’ team also put out a 10/10 announcement on Twitter to confirm they had “got her candy”.
Speaking of her latest challenge, Gemma told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield she was already concerned at how fast she would be able to go on the ice, adding: “I don’t know how they’re going to lift me up!”
She continued: “I know how hard it is. I’ve done my research! I am scared, I am nervous. I really want to give it a go. I love the costumes. I love fun factor!”
Richard said of his participation: “I’m training because I know they’re going to put me in some tight stuff. There’s going to be a lot of shape. I’m training from now!”
Gemma had previously attempted to bag a role on rival dance show, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The star had tried to get the BBC to sign her up for the ballroom competition by way of compensation for her dramatic on-stage fall at the Radio 1 Teen Awards last year.
However, judge Craig Revel Horwood said he didn’t think Gemma was of a high enough“calibre for ‘Strictly’ - something she heavily disputed.
Gemma has previously appeared on both ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’, famously quitting the latter after just three days in the jungle.
The rest of the ‘Dancing On Ice’ line-up will be unveiled in the coming weeks, ahead of its return in January.
Among the celebrities tipped to be joining Gemma and Richard include ‘Love Island’ finalist Wes Nelson, ‘Coronation Street’ star Jane Danson and former Westlife member Brian McFadden.
