Ok, the pen does look a but cheap.
Turns out the British public weren't going to let the announcement pass that easily.
Here's a flavour of the responses. Fergus was truly disappointed.
Some doubted his conviction.
There were some legitimate questions.
It all got a bit Charles Dickens.

And it didn't get much better after that.
