A Chinese woman has been rescued from a gap between two walls – after passers-by initially mistook her cries for help for the unearthly groans of a ghost.
The unnamed woman, from China’s Anhui province, was stuck fast for seven hours after attempting to take a shortcut home, Shanghaiist reported.
Nearby homeowners failed to raise the alarm as they initially believed she was a ghost, CNN said.
Fire crews had to break down the walls of the narrowing passageway in order to rescue her. Footage revealed her coated in dust, yet unharmed, as she was lifted to safety.
