Gino D’Acampo de-camped (ahem) from the This Morning kitchen to the sofa on Tuesday’s show to chat to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about his new children’s book.
But viewers – and Phillip – were more interested in the TV chef’s brand new look.
Gone were his chefs whites and in their place were a pair of specs and a bandana.
Very Zoolander.
After chatting about his book, Get Cooking With Wiskella, Gino moved on to discuss the new series of his show with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, which they filmed in the States.
“We did a month’s filming non-stop,” he explained. “And from one place to another, we did America all over. It was good. It was, you know, hardcore, full on but what an experience. I’ve never been to America filming in that way. So that’s great.”
Cue Phillip quipping: “Well, it must’ve been great, because that’s what you’ve come back looking like.”
Gino responded: “This is what I looked like when I was filming, because I wanted to grow my hair. It was very hot there, so the only solution I had was that someone sold some of these bandanas and so I thought, you know, I’m going to put that [on] and sometimes I put it in cold water to keep me cool.”
It’s fair to say that his new look didn’t go down that well with viewers...
Gino also discussed his 17-year-old son Luciano’s relationship with Gordon Ramsay’s daughter, Tilly.
He said: “They [have] known each other for a few years now. I don’t really want to say a lot because it’s none of my business. But what a great pleasure I have knowing that my son is dating Gordon’s daughter. Just to really annoy him. That will do it.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
