Giovanna Fletcher has won this year’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
The author and podcaster was crowned the ITV reality show’s first-ever Queen Of The Castle during Friday night’s live final.
Giovanna beat Jordan North and Vernon Kay to win the crown, after the pair finished in second and third place respectively.
After hosts Ant and Dec revealed 12 million votes had been cast since lines opened to crown the winner, Giovanna said of her win: “I can’t believe it, people have literally picked up their phone and voted. I can’t believe it.
“It’s been the most amazing experience.”
Runner-up Jordan said: “I couldn’t have lost to anybody better.”
He said that Giovanna “totally deserved this”, describing her as the most “genuine, kindest person I have ever met”.
Following his exit earlier in the show, Vernon told Ant and Dec: “I’m over the moon to be in third place. It’s been an awesome camp, and [ecstatic] is the best word to describe it. It’s been well and truly awesome.”
Friday night’s final had seen the three finalists take part in one final Bushtucker Trial each, in the hope of earning a slap up meal for camp.
Vernon took on the Table of Torment, which saw him shackled to a table for 10 minutes while a series of unpleasant items were placed on top of him.
Giovanna had to eat a number of revolting items including a fermented duck egg, a cow’s nose, a fish eye, a sheep’s testicle and a bull’s penis in Frightening Feast.
Meanwhile Jordan was locked in a metal cage with a number of snakes in Iron Maiden, in a full-circle moment to the start of the series when he had a meltdown during the Viper Vault.
Shane Richie narrowly missed out on being among the finalists after he became the last celebrity to be eliminated from the camp ahead of the series finale on Friday.
Paralympian Hollie Arnold, West End star Ruthie Henshall, former Corrie actor Beverley Callard, journalist Victoria Derbyshire, opera singer Russell Watson, ex-EastEnders star Jessica Plummer, former Strictly professional AJ Pritchard and Olympian Sir Mo Farah were all previously eliminated.
This year’s I’m A Celebrity was the first in the show’s 18-year history to take place in Gwrych Castle in Wales, after it had to relocate from its usual home in the Australian jungle due to the pandemic.
Ant and Dec concluded the series by thanking Wales for playing host to the show, and telling fans to “stay safe”.
