An 11-year-old girl has told police how she fought off a man who grabbed her and tried to take her to his van.
The schoolgirl had just walked through an underpass at Wadhurst Lane, Milton Keynes, between 3pm and 3.45pm on Friday when the man approached her.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "He asked her for directions before latching on to her arm and asking her to get in to a vehicle. She broke free from him, struck him in the stomach and kicked him before running away.
"The victim was not injured during the incident."
The offender is described as white with tanned skin, 5ft 7in tall, of medium build, bald with a distinctive wart on one of his ears and was wearing black clothing and black boots.
Detective Inspector Phil Hayes said: "The victim has described being approached by a man she did not know and instructed to get in to a van. No van was seen during the incident. However, understandably this was a distressing experience for her.
"I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information about it which could assist the investigation and identify the offender.
"If anyone has any concerns, please feel free to speak to an officer patrolling in the area or call 101 to speak to your local neighbourhood team.”
