A schoolgirl had four abortions before her 16th birthday, shock figures have revealed.
She is among more than 200 under-16s who had repeat terminations in the past three years, despite being under the age of consent.
Health officials would not reveal how old the girl is, but confirmed to The Sun that her fourth abortion was in 2012.
Campaigners fear the procedures are being used as a form of contraception.
Department of Health figures show 84 under-16s had repeat abortions since 2011.
That total hit 89 in 2012, but it fell to 68 last year, when five of the treated girls were on their third abortion.
Norman Wells of the Family Education Trust said: "Too many are being taught they have a right to sex without consequences and are free to dispose of any unborn child that threatens their lifestyle."
Overall the number of under-age girls having terminations fell. It was 2,538 last year and 2,925 in 2012, with one a girl of 11.
This follows the trend, revealed earlier this year, that the number of teenage pregnancies in England and Wales has continued to drop.
Office for National Statistics data show the under-18 conception rate is the lowest since 1969 at 27.9 conceptions per 1,000 women aged 15-17.
Reasons put forward for this are greater awareness of sex education – and the fact teenagers are spending more time on social media than making out!
Other figures for the older age group revealed that 50 women have had nine abortions or more.
