A company founder has urged people not to use his service after having a swift change of heart.
Less than a day after news of his company, ShipYourEnemiesGlitter.com, went viral, Mathew Carpenter has announced his regret for starting the website.
Carpenter's premise was simple: you pay him $9.99 to send a envelope full of glitter to someone you hate, covering them in annoying sparkles as soon as they open it.
The idea resonated with so many people it was all over the internet within hours. The site crashed due to the high level of traffic, prompting Carpenter to beg people to stop.
Despite earning $10 for providing a ridiculously easy and low-cost service, the site's founder was sick of doing it fairly quickly.
"Please stop buying this horrible glitter product," he wrote on Product Hunt. "I'm sick of dealing with it. Sincerely, Mat."
He also announced his intention to sell the website on Twitter.
Unsurprisingly, a huge number of people replied asking to buy it. Because they don't consider putting glitter into an envelope "too much hassle".
