Long term sea level rise as a result of global warming could affect the lives and homes of over 130 million people globally according to a study carried out by Climate Central.
The worrying thing is that this figure is actually a best case scenario based on the terms laid out by the Cancun Agreement which aims to restrict global warming to just two degrees by 2100.
If of course the world can't agree, then there's every chance that the world could warm by four degrees which would result in a catastrophic change to some of the world's most iconic cities and would affect the lives of around half a billion people.

The projections are based on a peer-reviewed report that was published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the U.S.A.
To help highlight the research, Climate Central has teamed up with artist Nickolay Lamm to visualise what this would mean for some of the world's most recognisable cities including London, Sydney and New York.
