‘Gogglebox’ Stars The Siddiqui Brothers Caught Up In Police Investigation Over ‘ISIS Training’ Facebook Joke

'You don’t know if any of those people are genuinely ISIS supporters.'

Gogglebox’ stars Baasit and Umar Siddiqui found themselves caught up in an anti-terror investigation after posing for a Facebook picture with their brother Raza.

The brothers, who are regulars on the hit Channel 4 show, can be seen dressed in camouflage as they get ready for a day of paintballing.

So far, so what?

But the caption that accompanied the snap uploaded by Raza didn’t go down too well with one of his Facebook friends, who reported it to police.

“ISIS training day, look how happy we look!” Raza wrote alongside the pic.

The Sun claims that several of the 31-year-old’s friends commented on the photo with jokes about the terrorist organisation.

The Facebook friend told the newspaper that he was informed that anti-terror police would be paying a visit to Raza to follow up the complaint.

Derbyshire Police confirmed that there is no link to terrorism but reportedly said they would be “offering suitable words of advice”.

“No offences have been committed and there will be no further police action,” they added in a statement.

Baasit has previously said Raza “wishes he could do more” on ‘Gogglebox’ but is happy to be part of the show when he can, adding: “He is like the fifth Beatle.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Gogglebox’ cast will be returning to our screens on Wednesday (3 August) for a one-off special, which will see them all trying to make sense of the recent Brexit vote.
